Each piece is designed and handcrafted in London, with a deep respect for traditional craftsmanship and the story behind the jewellery. Whether creating something entirely new or reimagining treasured heirloom pieces, our process is centred on connection, meaning and exceptional attention to detail. Consultation
Every bespoke journey begins with a conversation. During an initial virtual consultation, you'll work closely with Amy to explore your ideas, inspirations and personal style. Whether you have a clear vision or are starting with a simple spark of inspiration, this is an opportunity to discuss what you love, what you don't, and how you'd like your piece to feel. For engagement and wedding jewellery, we'll consider stone shapes, proportions and practical details to ensure your piece is as wearable as it is beautiful. If you're remodelling inherited jewellery, we'll carefully assess your existing pieces and explore ways to honour their history while creating something entirely new. By the end of the consultation, we'll have a clear creative direction, laying the foundations for a piece that is deeply personal and thoughtfully designed.
Choosing Your Materials
With a design direction in place, we begin selecting the materials that will bring your piece to life. Whether you're dreaming of a one-of-a-kind engagement ring, a meaningful gift or a modern heirloom, Amy will guide you through the options, helping you choose gemstones and precious metals that reflect your style, story and budget. From vibrant sapphires and classic diamonds to unusual gemstones with character and individuality, each selection is made with care. If you have inherited jewellery or gemstones that you'd like to incorporate, we'll explore how they can be thoughtfully reimagined within the new design. Remodelling heirloom pieces is one of our favourite parts of the bespoke process, allowing treasured materials to be given a new chapter while preserving their sentimental value. All Goldfinch jewellery is crafted using recycled precious metals wherever possible, including 9ct and 18ct yellow, white and rose gold, creating pieces that are made to be worn, loved and passed on for generations.
Making Your Piece
Once every detail has been carefully considered and your design is approved, your piece moves to the workshop. Each piece is individually handcrafted by Amy using a combination of traditional goldsmithing techniques and modern tools, allowing for exceptional precision without compromising the character and craftsmanship that make handmade jewellery so special. From shaping and soldering to stone setting and finishing, every stage is completed with patience, skill and attention to detail. We believe that truly meaningful jewellery cannot be rushed. Every curve, setting and surface is refined by hand, ensuring the finished piece feels as beautiful to wear as it does to look at. It is this dedication to craftsmanship that transforms an idea into a future heirloom. Production typically takes up to 8 weeks , depending on the complexity of the piece. Throughout the process, we'll keep you updated with progress from the bench, sharing moments of the making journey and giving you a glimpse into the craftsmanship behind your jewellery as it comes to life.
